Today’s Agenda:
5 – 6:15pm ET: We’ll discuss Exercise #2, the Media Fast. What data did you collect? What do your videos and timed writing exercises reveal? How do we transform and analyze our fieldnotes? What should a researcher consider when returning from an intensive field experience?
6:15 – 7pm ET: We’ll invite each of you to take a short break, then return to your media-fast records and create a third videolog reflecting on the exercise 24 hours after completion. Consider: What patterns or insights are emerging from this exercise? What questions are arising that could be explored through further research?
7 – 7:20pm ET: Small-group discussions re: what this exercise is revealing beyond yourself. Are there patterns emerging when you compare your experiences with those of your colleagues?
7:20 – 8pm ET: Plenary discussion about how the material you generated is useful as “data” and what happens after data generation and collection.
